OOC:Totally unrelated to any other RP plots involving these pups. Purely motivated by plot bunnies and general twisted enjoyment using deleted scenes and other wacky fun.
"It's okay to love them both," Rose had told Elena as she was dying in Damon's bed. Elena didn't want to think on what that meant exactly, especially considering everything else that had happened after that. Damon had been so different since Rose had died, and Elena had done her best to reach out to him. It was a good way to deflect her own feelings of confusion that she didn't talk about with Stefan while she gave unreturned hugs to Damon.
The sacrifice was coming, and she knew what she had to do despite what Stefan, Damon, and everyone else said. It was the only way, Elena figured. The dance had proven that Klaus could get to her through her friends, and Alaric still being alive (along with Bonnie secretly hidden) had left Elena crying for days. She wanted to talk to Damon about why he hadn't told her, why he'd hidden the plan from her. She should decide her own fate, not someone else! Stefan hadn't even known!
Still, it hadn't stopped Elena from going finally to talk to Damon where he'd told her the truth, that she'd pretty much always known.
"I will always choose you," he'd said.
It was a little unnerving, especially alone in his bedroom, and she'd had to leave. Elena didn't want either of them choosing her over themselves. She went home to try and come up with a different plan, a better plan to save the people she loved, and when she thought she had an idea, she went over to the mansion to tell both brothers exactly what she was going to do... only when she walked inside, both brothers were waiting for her. Sighing, Elena crossed her arms and looked at them pointedly.
"It's my choice, not yours, not either of yours, to decide my life. I get to decide what happens to everyone I love, so deal with it, okay?" She didn't even realize how she'd just phrased it as she stood there, defiant.
